Puyallup / Sumner Leadership Institute 2009: Seeking Candidates

The Puyallup/Sumner Chamber Leadership Institute, presented in collaboration with Pierce College, is a yearlong leadership experience that will launch on September 19, 2008.

The mission of the Puyallup/ Sumner Leadership Institute is to provide a growing pool of volunteer leaders for civic, charitable, and governmental organizations in the Puyallup/ Sumner area. This program uniquely focuses on building the skills and knowledge needed to be effective in community service leadership roles. The Puyallup/ Sumner Leadership Institute will have an emphasis on collaboration and ethics.

The Institute starts with a full day retreat in September and will meet one Friday a month from October to May. Each month a specific topic will be explored with guest speakers and site visits. Topics include: economic development, diversity, boardsmanship, local government, fundraising, media relations, and human services.
