Government  Advocacy

There are a myriad of political issues that impact your day-to-day business:

Transportation:

Can you get goods and services in and out of your business at a reasonable price?  Are your employees able to get to work with a minimum of traffic problems?

Education:

Are the schools near your business inviting to the families of essential employees that you are trying to attract or keep?

Health Care:

Can you ensure your employees the range and quality of health care options that make you a competitive employer?

Permits, taxes, policies:

Are the bureaucratic processes set up to allow you to spend your time on your business or are you working to pay your tax bill?

The good news is that as part of the network of businesses that comprise the Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce, you have powerful government advocacy working on your behalf.

The Government Affairs Committee meets monthly to develop positions and strategies that will advance issues that benefit businesses.  In partnership with 7 other Chambers in this region as a member of the South Sound Coalition, the Government Affairs Committee is making progress on improving transportation, education, health care and taxes for businesses in Puyallup and Sumner.
